The Girl with a Roguish Smile
Near my old house, a little girl stayed by.. On whose lips always a roguish smile played by...

She appeared grave but she had an amiable mien.
To hone her looks & talent, she was always too keen.
For wherever she went a group trailed by,
& always on her lips a roguish smile played by....

She looked up to herself, she was her own ideal.
She trusted people readily, she might haven't suffered an ordeal.
For lately, everyone she met, just betrayed by.
What to think of the roguish smile that on her lips played by....

A gadabout; she travelled places through her books.
She used to value people by their views & not by looks.
She didn't concern from where her friends hailed by,
And when she met them a roguish smile was displayed by....

She was a dreamer of sorts, a believer of vows.
She just took what others blurted, unaware of what in their mind goes. Uninformed she was, of what her friends,at her back said by.
She just has this roguish smile on her lips played by....

That day was usual, but for her, life changing..
She just stood in daze, when she perceived her trust ravaging.
With time each promise her friends had made, failed by.
She forgot the roguish smile that on her lips played by....

The staunch pals, who once pledged to stand beside her.
Were now studying her as the audience, leading her believes to waver.
The bulwark she expected from them was delayed by,
She thought if she had any roguish smile that on her lips played by....

finally, she snapped all the ties & made herself aloof.
To the traitorous souls, she desired to proof..
She wasn't broken for she still had her courage pailed by,
she tried to imagine the roguish smile that on her lips played by...

She revived herself, stood up robust & shrewd.
She absolved the beguilers & strode on her way, forgetting the feud.
But the lessons she had learnt, thereafter stayed by..
She once again mustered the roguish smile, that earlier on her lips played by............ Smile
