The Chiefs signed free-agent cornerback David Amerson on Friday to provide secondary depth.

The veteran cornerback has made 56 starts and appeared in 68 games over five seasons with the Washington Redskins and the Chiefs' AFC West rival Patrick Robinson Jersey , the Oakland Raiders. He's made 249 tackles, picked off eight passes and returned two four touchdowns.

The Chiefs spent much of last year searching for a cornerback to start opposite Marcus Peters, and ultimately signed Darrelle Revis late in the season. Revis was released this past week.

The Chiefs are also due to get Kendall Fuller from the Redskins once their trade of Alex Smith to Washington becomes official next month. Kansas City also gets a draft pick in the deal.

Davis Webb didn’t see his release coming from the Giants Kellen Winslow Jersey , but once it did and he cleared waivers, the quarterback began looking for the “best decision for me.”

Webb joined the Jets’ practice squad Tuesday.

鈥淭hey showed a lot of interest and I felt wanted,” Webb said Adolphus Washington Jersey , via Brian Costello of the New York Post. “I鈥檓 excited to be here. There鈥檚 no doubt about that. I get to keep my house, too.鈥?/p>

Webb had expected to backup Eli Manning, but the Giants chose instead to keep rookie Kyle Lauletta and Alex Tanney. The team’s third-round pick in 2017 said the team gave him no reason for cutting him.

鈥淚 didn鈥檛 need a reason Kyle Murphy Jersey ,鈥?Webb said. 鈥淭hey made a decision. I didn鈥檛 agree with it. I don鈥檛 think many people did, especially my teammates. I鈥檝e moved on and I wish them nothing but the best.鈥?/p>

The Jets have a rookie starter in Sam Darnold, but Webb has a chance to win the backup job in 2019 with veteran Josh McCown in that role on a one-year deal for this season.

The Jets also had quarterback Connor Cook in for a visit Tuesday.
