New York Jets Flight Connections 08/29/18
Good morning http://www.newyorkjetsteamonline.com/nat...erd-jersey , Gang Green Gangsters! Here are your daily New York Jets links for this Wednesday...NJ.com – Nate Burleson: Jets’ WR ‘misfits’ make up ‘legitimate trio that can do it all’.NJ.com – Why Phil Simms would be ‘disappointed’ if Giants miss playoffs, ‘shocked’ if Jets make it.ESPN – Jets have one eye on Khalil Mack, the other on the future.NY Post – Jets have actually gotten this QB situation right.NY Post – The Sam Darnold-Baker Mayfield breakdown, from Jet who knows.NY Post – Kirk Cousins turned down $90M from the Jets.USA Today – Tony Romo explains why Sam Darnold could be the NFL’s best QB someday.Elite Sports NY – It’s put up or shut up time for final roster spots.NFL Spin Zone – Will Bart Scott comments light fire under Darron Lee?Associated Press – ‘Freakish athlete’ Obum Gwacham hopes to sack spot with Jets.NFL – What is Sam Darnold learning from Teddy Bridgewater?Turn On The Jets – Breaking down the kicking battle.Jet Nation – Jets fans split on Khalil Mack’s potential price tag.Enjoy Your Wednesday!Jets 2018 Roster Countdown: Number 65 Dakoda Shepley Our Jets roster countdown now moves on to Dakoda Shipley.Name: Dakoda ShepleyNumber: 65Year with Jets: 1stProjected Role: Practice squad candidate as an offensive linemanHis 2017: Shepley played his college ball at the University of British Columbia Womens James Carpenter Jersey , a school not exactly known as a pipeline of NFL talent. Canadian football blog 3 Down Nation noted that he took home some honors during his college career.Shepley moved from guard to right tackle in that final college season. He worked out at the Eastern Michigan pro day and reportedly impressed NFL teams. Despite being a first round pick in the CFL Draft, he chose to come to America as the Jets offered him a contract as an undrafted free agent.2018 will be a success if: Shepley makes the practice squad and develops his game. I’ll admit that I don’t know a ton about Shepley’s game, but it probably wouldn’t be wise to expect much more. You generally are in trouble if your team needs to play a rookie undrafted offensive lineman from a Canadian college. This signing was about the future, not the present. The Jets will look to develop Shepley this year.Odds of making the roster:The Jets reportedly gave Shepley a $10 Womens Lac Edwards Jersey ,000 signing bonus, which is a nice chunk of change for an undrafted free agent. This suggests the team likes his potential. I think this gives him more of an inside track for the practice squad than the actual roster, though. I say he is a Longshot (less than 25%).
