ok, on a serious note, these days, I'm reading through Jeffery Archer's novels. So right now, he's my favourite.

JRR Tolkein: LOTR is epic.
Isaac Asimov: Some books can be annoying at times, but overall I like him as he got me into scifi novels.
Alan Moore: Who doesn't want to watch/read the Watchmen? Tongue
